Television is changing

Nielsen recently released their latest survey on Americans' TV viewing habits and their rapid decline, explain all in their article here.

With the rapid change in technology and the avenues in which we, the consumer, can enjoy our content it's no surprise that our habits and preferences have changed. As the survey shows, those below the age of 35 have almost halved their time infront of the box since 2011 while people aged 60 and over haven't changed their routine in any significant way. If you've ever tried to teach your grandmother how to use a computer, that shouldn't come as much of a surprise.

In 2014 it was said that 300 hours of video were uploaded to YouTube every minute, YouTube themselves point out that even on YouTube Mobile they reach "more 18-34 and 18-49 year-olds than any cable network in the U.S." Growth in watch time has increased 50% year on year for three years, with the number of people watching YouTube each day increasing 40% y/y since March 2014 and the number of hours spent watching on mobile has increased by 100% y/y. Netflix is also reportedly responsible for a 50% drop in American TV viewership.

People by preference consume their media online more and more and for good reason; it's more convenient and far more engaging. We can search for exactly what we want when we want it, no need to wait for the airtime and no need to record, we can talk about what we just watched in comment section on the same page and have more related content recommended to us then and there.

Obviously this all represents a great change in the broadcast industry, conventional news and entertainment is now far more accessible online. YouTubers themselves are now legitimate entertainers and there and many YouTube based shows, which require production equipment to make - but online content creators don't have huge studios or the budgets to go with them. They require affordable and portable equipment with ease of use and designed to fit the needs of a one or two man production team. EyePrompt offers our EyePrompt bundle to address this exact problem.

At EyePrompt we understand that with technology and entertainment culture evolving, we have to move with the times.
